The Louisiana Senate did the right thing: Passing a state constitutional amendment to preserve the right of citizens to keep and bear arms.

There are two landmark cases -- Heller (D.C.) and McDonald (Chicago) -- has made this kind of legislation action possible. The state has gone above and beyond, saying that any measures that would challenge the Second Amendment should be subject to strict scrutiny by a court.

There's no point in letting activist judges get confused.

Freedom must be preserved.
